what are some other shows you like to watch?
« on: Sep 21, 2003, 03:52 PM »
if i'm not watching TPB, i'm watching dead like me ..  those are my two favorite shows..

another new show just came out in the states (not sure if it's in canada) called Jake 2.0.. That's a pretty wild sci-fi type of show..  and yes, i'm into certain types of sci-fi, but not the space shit like star wars and star trek.. yucky..

I've heard good things about Dead Like Me. I personally don't have the greatest selection for channels now (2 via rabbit ears..) I do however get cable for each season of Trailer Park Boys, and disconnect after. There's too much garbage on tv that I can't be bothered with.

a few shows i would bring with me if i was stranded on a desert island are: Family Guy (though not on tv anymore :( ), Simpsons, and Conan (he has to be the funniest goddamn late nite talk show host in existance). I really don't know what else is out there. That Monk show is probably the worst thing I've seen in a while. It is so terribly written, and obvious. Plus I want to punch my TV everytime I see him act all "Obsessive Compulsive" ugh. I'll stop now before the anger sharks start swimming in my head.

cheers

yeah, dead like me is great.. great plot, great ideas, great everything.. pretty funny show, in a dark comedy kind of way..

i never got into monk.. everytime i saw the previews for that, it just reminded me of columbo with issues, and you can't do a colombo'esque type of show again..

yeah, I don't have cable either, but i have cable modem, and since there's no way for them to block my cable signal when i have cable modem, i still get like 30 channels for free..  Id order cable when TPB started, if TPB actually aired in the US.. instead, I just re-order cable everytime basketball season starts (WOOO! Oct 28!!)..[/code]

LOVE Seinfeld, Six Feet Under, Family Guy...that's about it I think. Survivor used to be good. Hopefully this season will be
"...he keeps stickin' a fuckin' gun in my face."

DOH, add that one to my list. I miss watching that show a lot. Have you seen Jerry's Docu-movie "Comedian", if not check it out, pretty decent, and lots of comic chit-chat about the biz. it even has bill cosby!

i'm sorry but dawsons creek and TPB do not belong in the same post together, i think there's international laws or something that prohibit that, and if not, there should be..

well, dawson's creek alumni aren't nearly that old. but 90210 alumni are!

Luke Perry (Dylan) comes at a whopping 38 years old.
Shannen Doherty (Brenda) is 32 years old.
Jason Priestley (Brandon) is 34.
Tori Spelling is still a whore. (age cannot be calculated accurately, as only 75% of her body is what she was born with)

the dawson's crowd is around their mid to late 20's

I had a good laugh at that one..

After all these years..I still miss Kids in the Hall.  And Seinfeld.  I could still watch tons of reruns.

Six Feet Under and Oz also..except Oz is over now..

I dont watch tv at all since i dont have cable tv nor a tv, but i have cable internet so i can download whatever i want to see.

Shows i like besides TPB: simpsons, the shield, twilight zone, outer limits,
upright citizens brigade, sifl and olly, beavis and butthead, ren and stimpy, rockos modern life, tales from the darkside, news radio, tales from the crypt.

hm..i cant think of any others. Im a big movie person, im not much for tv to tell you the truth. I just tend to like the older shows and dont go much for anything made past 2000 unless its good.

another one to add to my list, these guys are awesome. i was lucky enough to catch one of the producers (Dan Redican) doing a fringe show infomercial called "Gary Winner's Stop Being Stupid". It was great, he had slides that eventually made him trainwreck.

now you've got me wanting to rent Brain Candy!
