I think I'm going really early so if I try the digi and get rejected I'll still have time to go back to the car.  I did that for the Stones in Ottawa, except I took a bus halfway across town and back and still missed only the opening band.

You take that one Cappy?  I'm getting anxious.  My brother is at the Snoop Dogg/Ice cube show in Fredericton tonight, catching the bus up here tomorrow night.

few more, most of them are out of focus and the audio on my videos are horrible.  The picture quality is good.  For the encore they sang Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone.  Best concert I have ever been to.  Seats were unbelievable.  The ushers kept saying "wow" as we showed them our tickets on the way to the seats.  Even got a House of Blues wristband so they could tell who was supposed to be up close.  Here's a few more pics from the show.
first one is shot of the band
second is the lighters and phones during Fiddler's Green
third is close up of Gord and Paul
fourth is shot of the stage
last is one from someone else that was at the show.  There is a guy with his hands up clapping in the bottom right, I'm right behind him. I think you can see my bald head.

Thanks for the pics, interesting that they played "Like a Rolling Stone", they rarely play covers, it would have been cool to hear.

Seen the Hip 2x and they didn't play Fiddler's Green either time. I was broke the weekend they were in town and couldn't go. Sounds like a good time.

MC, that's what a lot of people have been saying about this tour.  They've hardly played Road Apples tunes on tour until this one.

Again it is interesting to note that the venues close to the Canadian border are sold out.  The Hip play in much smaller venues in the US, so lots of Canadians will take the opportunity to see them play there.  It is better thans seeing them in Canada where they play in big hockey rinks.

If I still lived in Sarnia, I'd go see them in Detroit. They used to play there a lot and always sold out. I'd imagine it would beat seeing them in a 20,000 seat hockey arena. Alas, I'm in Ottawa and missed them. Too bad, too, because their new CD is really, really good. World Container should be much more popular...

I'm in!  Took me a while but I couldn't get into these guys at first.  I guess the first thing I liked was The Darkest One video, for obvious reasons.  But when I heard Bobcaygeon during the credits at the end of the movie I was sold.  So I guess I'd like to know what albums I should get.  Can I trust allmusic's opinion?:

I'm thing of getting Fully Completely or In Between Revolution.

Get Fully Completely for probably their best, Up to Here and Road Apples are their classic sound that everything is compared to.

For a good cross section, Yer Favourites is a new best of that was compiled by internet vote and it has almost every one of their monster hits.

I recomend the band's new album, World Container! It is AMAZING. But In Between Evolution is also great. It's a different sound, though. A lot of people compare it to Fully Completely but I actually wouldn't. It's very raw and it's got a lot of energy, a lot like their live performances.

Then, once you've got The Hip's whole collection, you have to run out and pick up Stripper's Union, the band Rob Baker's in with... whatshisface from The Odds. THAT is a great band. I'm still kicking myself for never going to see them live.

pcole you should also check out the previous pages of this thread, it is filled with CD recommendations.  Again I'll say that anyone that wants to be introduced to the Hip should start with "Up to Here" and "Fully Completely"

The new video for "Yer Not The Ocean" is out.  It's directed by Mike Clattenburg.

REALLY?! I've been watching this video non-stop for the past two days! What that the news you were hidding from me? ;)

I love the concept of the video! That bear is so adorable (looks like it may be Gus!) and so is Gord, of course. :P

I hear Gord drew the short straw for press and such for this album, I assume that includes music videos but I wish the rest of the band were in it!
