Good luck.  I had a job back in high school at our local Miramichi AM radio station working midnight to 6 on saturday, and sundays.  During the summers worked during the weekdays. It was good stuff.

Yep, I hear ya. I know a thing or two about the Baptist church. No drinking, no dancing, and I fully expect eternal damnation for watching Trailer Park Boys.

Oh, we all have so much in common! I am Methodist preacher's kid. Now that isn't nearly as restrictive as a baptist (especially a southern baptist!), but just as jesus-y. Perhaps, it's the rebellion that draws me to TPB.

I work at a radio station. I do the morning news, but I have filled in for a couple of our djs at times. We are a very alternative station (Beck, Modest Mouse, Jack Johnson...are the current favorites in rotation.) in the heart of Mississippi. I really love what I do. It's a very competitive field, broadcasting, so good luck! Just be ultra confident in yourself, and you will be fine!:D

You'll like the radio business - it's a blast.  I was a technical producer for a local morning show back the mid to late 80's.  Talk about laughing so hard my sides hurt lol!  I'm sorry I gave it up for a "real job" but hey - can't look back.  Best of luck with the audition !!!!!!!!

I am there with you all the way!  My friend Carrie used to joke that my theme song should be, AC-DC's "Highway to Hell," but that was when I was really BAD. Now I'm like Diet BAD, or BAD Light, if you prefer.

No disrespect to anyone's religion or beliefs on this board....I totally respect people that have some sort of spirituality they adhere to. I just don't like religion organized. It's as dirty as politics, or course that's what I saw growing up in it. God's plan or path has never been mine.

Okay, southern belle is a so coming with us...I agree dear....I never understood why I needed the middle man..ie.preacher...he is human too...I could walk into a church right now...ask to speak to him in his office or chambers...(I like being in chambers)  start talking about some scripture I cant quite decipher...and I will bet you ...in less than ten minutes I could have him holding my head hard into his manhood..oh yeah..I said that shit...not that I desire such...well...maybe...but the point is all these people belonging to a church when it is nothing more than a bunch of rich folks supporting it...a fashion show....a car show in the parking lot...and a more sinning occuring than on a street corner...THEY ARE HUMAN ...PEOPLE..HELLO...IT is called self reliance...try it...its great.  *hugs*

Preachers are all too human. Dad's one, so believe me, I know! It's a job just like everything else.

As the daughter of an ex-Baptist minister (yes, EX, long story and no, it's nothing dirty) I totally agree with you...They ARE only human. I'm sure it's not an easy job. I couldn't do it. Well, of course, I couldn't...I'm a girl and that's another big no-no in the Baptist church.

Preach it, cottonelle lover!

P.S. Did I mention that I love God?  O:)

I agree.  I consider myself somewhat spiritual but I don't really respect any organized religions.  The only tenet  I think we need to follow is the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you'd have done to you".

Amen to that! I've tried out several different churches over the years and just can't find a good fit. I always end up feeling like I'm back in high school...all these little cliques (don't know if I spelled that right) to infiltrate. Guess until I find a comfortable place I'll keep talkin to the Big Guy (Santa Claus) one on one. Like cottonelle lover said...cut out the middle man. Life is good!
