Hour long episodes of Coronation Street
« on: Mar 24, 2005, 07:01 PM »
Since this is general chat, don't forget that Coronation Street will air (in Canada) one hour episodes starting on April 04/05 at 7 PM and continue for 10 weeks. This will catch us up 2 1/2 months.

I had missed an episode quite a while back and went to look for the Canadian update. The home page said...RIP Maxine Peacock. I've never gone there again, just wait until Sunday.

I love Corrie.  I used to think it was just another "soap" and I hate soap operas like Days of Our Lives, etc.  Too maudlin and phony.

Then, years ago, I had a roomie from Essex and she got me hooked on the show.  I love it because the storylines don't linger and the actors come across as every-day people.

Anyway, here's a link you Corrie fans may be interested in regarding upcoming specials on CBC:

Cheers ... and let's hope Todd sorts out his life, heh.

Thanks for that link Becca 8)  I do like the everyday people aspect of the show. The accents are comforting too. (I am English).

No worries, Fishman.   :)

What do you think of the whole Todd/Sarah/Karl situation?  I feel for Sarah because she's way too young to be involved in such a situation and I also feel for Todd because I don't think he meant to hurt her.  I think he feels that if he could be who he is in the first place, he would never have got into this position.  As for Karl ... he's yummy, heheh.

And don't get me started on Jason ... Koo-koo-ka-choo.

Cheers,
B.

Todd is going through a really rough life decission. I think you must be who you are and he seems to have done it. I wonder what kind of relationship he will have with Karl? It would be a drag for Todd to "come out" and then have Karl bail on him.
As for Jason...You like your guys young, dark and handsome don't you? He is a bit "thick" though.

I think Karl's gonna bail on him but in the end, Todd will be okay.  He's who he is and you gotta admire someone who has the testicular fortitude to say so.  I winced at Vera's comments to Todd when he came into Roy's Rolls for breakfast. "We don't serve fairies."  Feh.

Yeah, I love my guys to be young, dark and built.  Bonus points for an IQ over 80 ... haha.  Really though, I just like them to accompany me and indulge me later whilst looking pretty.  I don't ask for much.

Cheers,
B.

Vera has never been one to keep her tongue in tow. eeek.
Maybe you should call Charlie Stubbs and ask for Jason to come over and "check your plumbing out"

As for Vera, I often wonder why Jack doesn't drink more.

Cheers (and still laughing),

Hehehe, true!  I love his aside comments because they are so deserved.

Ah, but they're still together so I guess that should say something.

As for "thick" guys on the show - Tyrone wins that one hands down.  If I was Monica, I would have chewed my left front leg off and hobbled away, heh.

Cheers,
B.

They're seeing each other?  I didn't know.  I avoid the Corrie message boards because we are so far behind and I hate to read spoilers.

Please don't tell me the actor who plays Jason is leaving soon - he's fuel for my fantasies whilst "getting changed".

Note to Self: Shaddup.

Cheers,
B.

Really?  Where from? :)

I can't enter the "speculative" discussion re Corrie here, I view the updates, and I've promised not to post any spoilers :)
