I am getting pretty sick and tired of the two commercials that start out with crying babies. I have almost pulled a mussle leaping for the remote to change channels. You guys know the ones. MADD commercial and one for a radio station that is supposed to sooth a distraught baby. Get them the FUCK off my TV.
  As for my CRTC request...Ban any song or commercial with emergency sirens in them. I am driving, safely and within all speed limits etc., and in the background, a siren starts to quietly come through my radio. My heart rate increases and I start to look in all my mirrors and everywhere else other than where I should be. It is very distracting and should not be allowed on the radio.
  There...I feel better now!

I really don't think that people who are getting ready to drive drunk are paying attention to commercials on tv.  I don't have a percentage or anything but I would think that most of them don't have a clue what MADD is anyways.  


They should just ban alcohol altogether.  And legalize the dope.

I doubt most drunk drivers plan for it to happen. The goal of the MADD campaign is to make people plan ahead before they get drunk. Once a person is intoxicated it's too late. Then it's up to other people to step up and prevent that person from DWI. That's another of MADD's goals.

Oh, man, those tear right through me, too...and I'm a GIRL!  Or even those stupid radio ads with SIRENS in them?  What are they, stupid??  Here I am pulling, over on the highway, and it's a freakin' COMMERCIAL.  There should be a law.  :x

I hate the crying baby commercials too, Fishy.  Don't get me wrong, I don't hate kids but that piercing loud cry is a little too much for me at times.  Thank Dawg for the "mute" button on the remote!

One thing I often wondered about drunk driving and celebrities who get charged with DUI's:  These people are millionaires and can't afford to take a cab or limo? Pfffffft.

Oh man fishy ,that MADD add makes me feel sick and stressed out every time I hear it. I know it's a good cause ,and I could hit the mute ,but sometimes I can't reach it fast enough.

I hate that "AlarmForce" ad, it's all over the radio - cocksucker has that announcer with that voice-of-god shite - what does he say - "Identify yourself or the fackin pitbulls will be released." Some-such shite, puts me right off my feed. Also agree about the alarms and sreamin brats - ENUFF ALREADY! Cheers?

Yeah, it's as if some people aren't thinking when they put car noises like sirens and honks on the radio. Really, where's their head?

I know the MADD comercial with the baby who's parent is long missing is suppose to make us feel bad, and suppose to disturb us, but I'm afraid that for me, it just makes me want to put the crying on mute and then I miss the message.

So really, these "ads" are failing. Woops. Someone needs to be fired!

  I totally agree with trying to stop drinking and driving but when I change the channel the second that (or any commercial for any product) comes on, they have just wasted their advertising dollar.

Has anyone seen the Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where Larry is at a stop light and the commercial has a car beeping to he flips off the driver behind him because he thinks it's him and the guy rear ends him....funny stuff.

really? I like the screaming baby.....i find her to be an excellent form of birthcontrol. :wink:

I hate the new pepto bismal commercial.The one where all the people in the office are standing around in a line chanting about their upset stomachs,blah,blah,blah and diarhea then they start some weird dancing thing....hate it.Makes me never want to buy that product.

I nearly barfed my guts up when someone caughed in my english class and another student said, "Robitussin!" to him. Talk about falling for it! Oh shit ,I hope no one misinterpreted me on this statement. I have never driven drunk and Always call people on their irresponsible actions. I think that it is a very effective add ,and applaude them on its simple message. As a father of 3 who gets woken up 1 or 2 times a night by my kids ,the thought of one of them crying for me or my wife in the night and no one to comfort them? It make me sick to my stomach ,and stressed out ,because that is reality for some kids ,and it scares me!!

OK OK OK!
First off, I never EVER was making light of drunk driving and I apologize to anyone who got the wrong end of the stick. I was just complaining about the crying baby noise and not the reason the baby was crying. The first time I saw that commercial, the message realy hit home.
 I'm sorry if I have offended anyone in anyway. It was never my intention.
  Now can we ALL settle the fuck down?
I need to go and visit a few more topics to straighten my point out too.

Man, what's up with all the cancer shit? Obviously the ones cracking the jokes never lost someone close to them from the fucking disease. I lost my dad when I was 9yrs old to cancer...I think I can have a really sick sense of humour at times, but man...That shit is just low.

I totally agree Ole Dirty. There have been a lot of people here on the .org that have dealt with cancer very recently. This can be a really sensitive subject matter.
