It depends.  How much is the item worth, and where is it coming from?

What is it?  I forgot, that sort of aids in the decision-making for me, too.

me and my girlfriend buy and sell on eBay and we always get it if it's' an expensive item and advise our customers from overseas to always get it. most don't!
so far we've not had any problems with those that don't.
everythings got there (even canada :D )   i guess it's a risk some people take but as i've said so far it's been cool...

I wouldn't bother for a belt buckle.  I doubt it'll go missing.  If it was something breakable, I'd add insurane.

JMHO

I add insurance to everything, I've been burned too many times.  And down here in the states we have these assholes called UPS.   Recently they dropped off a $3000 synthesizer WITH insurance and a signature required at one of my husband's customers' house, and shoved it UNDER THE PORCH.  They then taped a message to the door saying something to the effect of "Your very VALUABLE package is under the porch".  Of course it wasn't there that evening when the customer got home.  That may not seem comperable to a belt buckle, but a lot of ebayers are just scamming and don't even own the items they're listing.  Insurance at least adds credibility and a time frame for your complaints.  I got banned from eBay for failing to pay one dollar to an asshole and have to get my husband to bid for me- with caution.

Don't go with the insurance. What people don't realize is that everything under a certain dollar amount is already insured.

-I think that may just be a Canadian feature (and a good one).  I'm not so sure about other countries.

A spinning belt buckle.  That's Gangsta.  Post a pic once that baby gets here.

Is it as cool as the spinning hub caps they sell at Crappy Tire?

Meaning what? That we don't need to be cautious? Nowadays it seems easier for someone to rip you off.

What I mean is,
that sooner rather than later pretty much all retail will be conducted on-line.I have seen it first hand,  and whether or not you like it ,  it's a done deal. Ebay and many other online retailers have put extreme security checks in place to make it as safe as if you are going to a store. And as far as getting ripped off by a seller on eBay,  you have to do your research and check into the seller(Feedback) and email people who have purchased items from them in the past,  this way you can get a good idea about what kind of seller they are.
I have personally been ripped off more in person(at a store) than on-line.
True,  being cautious is a good thing,  but also you have to learn to live and grow with new technology and ways of doing things:)

Shop carefully, read all the fine print and shipping terms. ALWAYS read feedback comments on Ebay sellers. I have not been burned yet (touch wood).
I keep such odd hours due to the job, and rarely can make it to the stores.
Online shopping is such a convenience for me, even groceries are delivered to my door.  My insurance only covers my prescriptions if they are bulk ordered online and are mailed to my house. No choice on that one.
The future is here.

Seller has listed what appear to be legit TPB T-shirts.  Ships worldwide, if anyone's interested.  coohoostoys

Shipping to the USA will be $12.00 for xpresspost or $9.00 for expidated. We can ship 2-3 t-shirts at no extra shipping fees. Rates within Canada vary from city to city please email your Province AND postal code. International rates vary but start at $16.00 surface mail or $32.00 xpresspost.

I've corresponded with this seller before myself, and they do reply to queries quickly.

Note:  I do not have any affiliation with this seller whatsoever.  I just know how difficult it is to get cool TPB stuff overseas :)
