Gord and The Tragically Hip are national treasures in Canada, and have been for decades.

A personal favorite of mine, that is him in my avatar with Julian.  That pic was taken on the set of the shoot for the Hip’s video for The Darkest One, which you can view here

Gord, like many musicians, was a fan of the TPB early on.  He was mentioned by Ricky in season 3 and that video was recorded shortly after that.

Gord would later appear in The Big Dirty, with Alex Liefson of RUSH, as one of the cops that the pull the boys over. The movies listed on the Theatre marquee were all Hip and RUSH songs. The soundtrack contained a few of the band's songs.

He again appeared in Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys, with the rest of the Hip, in a great scene with Phil. Torrens even sampled the Hip’s “Ahead by a Century” in this song feature in Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys

We wish him all the best! If you do have a chance to see the Hip on their upcoming tour I strongly recommend you go.

Damn I hate to hear that. I became a Hip fan by trying to find who sang Bobcaygeon hearing it on TPB. Then I sought out other songs. I really like them.
  I wish him well.

"It's a suitability test Ricky"
"Ok...I'll wear a suit if I have to...I don't care"
