Oh F*^#

I also forgot Wonderfalls.  It got cancelled before the end of it's first season last year, but it's playing on ONE, and the DVD's available as of Feb 1 2005.

Yeah....on my friends Niagara Falls Web Site she had this show mentioned as a topic when it was first announced last March 2004.

I read the description of the show and it was about a souvenier shop lady and the figurines talked to her leading her into the past for adventures. It was on FOX. I didn't really make an effort to check it out.  Sounded like a "Bewitched " lost episode.

I would like a show that just showed Niagara Falls. Like the Yule Log at X-mas time!!!!

Not sure where that description you mention came from, but she never travelled in the past.

"Although a recent graduate of Brown University, Jaye Tyler decides to ignore her degree, live in a trailer and work at a tourist gift shop in Niagara Falls called Wonderfalls-much to the despair of her well-to-do family. But Jaye's aimless life takes a startling turn after a lion figurine begins talking to her. Her family calls it an "episode," but Jaye knows better. Fearing for her sanity, Jaye nevertheless starts doing exactly what an increasing number of inanimate objects tell her to do and is amazed when her outrageous actions begin changing people's lives in unexpected ways.

Biggest problem is that Joan of Arcadia premiered at the same time on CBS.  Critics accused Wonderfalls to be a rip-off, but they really didn't have much in common, aside from Joan conversing with "God" and Jaye hearing inanimate objects speak to her to get her to do things that help other people - usually complete strangers - out (they were never clear on what they meant, which lead Jaye on a number of hilarious escapades until things delightfully fell into place by the end of each hour    ).  I think what killed it was that it was a FOX show.  FOX is not known for good shows, I guess this one was too far out of their league to keep alive.  As a sidenote, it was supposed to take place on the American side, but except for a few shots across the border, the majority was shot on the Canadian side (the gift shop you enter after leaving the caves and the Maid of the Mist tours) and a studio in Toronto.

My old-school faves:

50's: Honeymooners (dawn of the "fat-obnoxious-guy-with-hot-wife" paradigm)

60's: Green Acres* (the quintessential springboard for surreality)

( *and Petticoat Junction for, uh, less artistic reasons...*cough* cheescake! *cough* )

In no particular order:

- Any BBC Mystery (anytime)
-- Antiques Roadshow (British original)
- South Park
- Rough Cuts
- The Passionate Eye

I love BBC, Ben.  The best comedies and mysteries.  Have you ever seen "Touching Evil" which stars Robson Green?  Robson Green ... mmmm. Heh.

Okay, Ghostdog. I'll modernize. :P

Sopranos, Curb Yer Enthusiasm & Ali G

Networks are dead to me which is why I can only come up with one representative from that category:
Family Guy (the 4+ year hiatus ends with new ep's in May!)

Cheap Seats (ESPN Classic)

The Office (I know 'tis gone, but it's recent & I watch little teevee)

Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021 & Aqua Teen Hunger Force (Adult Swim)

[Soapbox: I'd mention Simpsons & South Park, but in my utterly worthless opinion they've both really tapered off consistrency-wise.]

I have no idea, but knowing he's British, maybe I tend to not try and figure out where it "could be from"

I also enjoy watching "The Sea Hunters"

Hell yeah, RNC, the A-Team was awesome. It was always so great to hear B.A. tell Murdock to "shut up, fool!" or hear one of Hannibal's lame catch phrases ("I love it when a plan comes together!" was his most notable). And if that wasn't enough, you'd have Face pulling some elaborate con job and Murdock thinking he has some imaginary pet dog while doing all sorts of crazy voices...wait a minute, how did this show ever become a hit? heh Lates.

Pipes, this is for you...

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team.

It's "aboat" a small town in Saskatchewan, and its quirky residents.

Yeah, I saw that, they said The Hip would be on next week, they weren't supposed to be on until March.

I loved Twin Peaks!  CG is nothing like TPB.  I can't describe it, seriously I can't, you should just give it a try, and what better reason than to catch The Hip episode.
