Did anyone see this film?

I thought it was simply fantastic.

i saw it and i really liked it.  i think i liked it more than being john malkovich which is one of my favourite movies.  charlie kaufman scares me because i always feel like i live in one of his stories and it is hard and i feel better watching the movies. my friend who knows a lot about "film" didn't like it because it had some borrowed parts from other movies or something.  i never thought i'd say this but jim carey was really fucking good in it.  i think there might be a spike jonze/charlie kaufman movie being made now or soon.

i wonder who will make sophia coppalas movies now that she isn't married to spike jonze?  i guess her dad could make them.

It sounds like you know a lot about movies.

I looooove Being John Malckovich! It's hillerous, and so weird. I want to get the DVD.

Borrowed bits from other movies? Do you know what he borrowed? That seems strange, since his ideas are usually so unique...

Excellent. The world needs more of that shit.

I agree about Jim Carry, I kept waiting for him to deliver lines like an idiot, but he came across as Joel really nicely...

Trevor, did you see Ripley's Game? It's not by Kaufman, but John Malkovich is in it and does a really good job.

Oh, by the way, did you see Adaptation? That's likely my favourite movie.

Eternal Sunshine was great.. I went with a chick who got confused about 10 minutes into it, and she kept sighing during the whole movie and it pissed me off pretty bad.  Granted I got a little confused, but it all came together at the end.  It didn't for her.. I had to explain the whole movie to her 3 times before she understood it, and then she told me she didn't like it because it required her to think.. God forbid you have to use your brain..

But anyways, that movie was definitely a good one..

I've heard about this "Eternal Sunshine" film, and have been meaning to see it. I always enjoy seeing a Jim Carrey movie where he blows your expectations of him as an actor away, a side that people don't see of him often enough.

How odd. I had much the same problem. The 'chick' i went with wasn't too enthusiastic to begin with, and i think decided not to like the film before it even started up...She's one of those people that don't like brainwork...I love brainwork in a movie, unless it's the type of clear thinkin' used to understand con artist movies...they always leave me fucked over.

Don't forget The Score with Ed Norton & Robert DeNiro :)

I actually didn't mind The Italian Job so much, especially after checking out the extras on the dvd. So much of that movie was real stunts by the actors themselves. It was hollywood, no doubt, but they really did do a lot of work to make sure everything was spot on. Not to mention the insane number of Mini's they used. :)

I liked Italian Job too, actually. Matchstick Men was good, after my father explained it all to me.
My favourite part of The Italian Job was the view of the city--for about a second you see a huge Curb Your Enthusiasm billboard.

BK,

no i did not see ripley's game.  i loved adaptation and i almost always enjoy nicolas cage.  i don't really know much about movies or film.  i do know quite a bit about making the damn things or at least i know a lot about working as a grip on some seriously shitty tv movies.

i will be going to see kill bill 2.  i didn't understand the first one but it really blew me away.  i went to see that movie about the us hockey team winning the gold medal in lake placid in 1980 or whenever it was.  it was kind of a lousy movie but i liked it a lot.  why are my posts always so fucking long.
