J-roc's character in the xmas special
randyburgerz:
Hey everyone, I understand the x-mas special is a prequel to the story. But, I'm a bit confused, as Sarah and Julian stated (in the dvs episode) that J-roc has always acted the way he does. Is there a plot hole here, or why does J-roc go by Jamie in the x-mas special?
I've gotten into discussions, and I suppose it could be many reasons. I just kinda wanted to hear the possibilities from everyone. I'm not trying to sound like an ass, or like I know all TPB trivia. I'm just trying to find out. Thanks for any insight/responses.

Perhaps when they said he "always" acted that way they were exaggerating, they really just meant since 97. I mean nobody always acts like that, they start out as a baby, then they become a kid etc. At some time, for some reason unknown to me, some people just decide that they should talk and act like they come from Compton even though they grew up in a place that was nothing like that. The J-ROC character is a great parody of these people :)
randyburgerz:
I suppose you're right, that was my understanding: the prequel showed what he was like before he started acting like he was black. But, some folks claim there's a plot hole. The only hole I can see, is when they say he has always acted that way. If that's the case, I assume still he must've started acting that way at an adolescent age. (as it usually happens, and that's as far back as they can remember) I know it's not a big deal, thanks for the confirmation shake. Cheers boys+girls of the park

This comes up in an essay in my book about continuity. Great show that this is, there are one or two goofs, and this is one of the big ones. Still great, of course.
moncton velvet smooth:
A bigger continuity gap is when Lucy is dating Randy and they're complaining about his lack of advancement from Lahey. They say he's been assistant park supervisor for a much, much longer time frame than what the prequel shows us.
