Your drink
« on: Oct 04, 2010, 03:19 AM »
OK so i recently got a job bartending and I want and need to know what you drink when you go to the bar.  Anyone who helps me out i will buy them there drink at my bar(org members are drinking on my tab). If you cannot make it out hear to California I'm sorry but i would still be very greatfull for your input so i can have a better idea what i need to know. Any shots or mixed drinks the org has I am happy to learn and would really like some input.
Thanks,    Jack

I don't have lofty drink goals, so as long as you can make a vodka tonic or long island iced tea, I'm good.  :)

But on a side not i know most of the basic drinks I'm looking for the random and exotic drinks that people like.

One of the only mixed drinks I like is the Bloody Caesar. It's a Canadian version of the Bloody Mary. Might be nice to introduce this to your patrons.

I remember trying a Zombie when I was sneaking into bars at 18. It was pretty tasty but got me all fucked up. I think I drank it too fast (one of the reasons I stay away from liquor).

I'm not much of a drinker but a friend introduced me to this one.  It's not exotic so I would throw it under random I guess...

Gin and gingerale with a splash of tonic...and a lime of course.  Crisp and refreshing!

Jack on the Rocks, please!  8)

As for more unusual drinks, I loved a Barbados cocktail called a Monkey Wrench - it is basically half white rum, half grapefruit juice. It packs a punch and keeps you awake, that's for sure! And it has so much fruit juice in it, it must be very healthy.

I'm not too picky when it comes to drinks, but when I go out I tend to drink Long Islands.  Beer, however, I'm picky.  I don't do too many domestics, with the exception of PBR.  I prefer my beers dark and stout!  :)

Dude what is with people using all these flavors of alcohol? It was meant to be enjoyed in its purest form and that is also what gets us fucked up the most. That said, there is a place down here near Austin that has bacon infused Vodka. Looks gross, sounds interesting. Might could have to try it next time I am down there. Maybe throw some eggs and hash in there too eh. Breakfast in a bizzotle mafs... :drunk:

Many years ago I had a female bartender offer me one of the following and I had no idea she was talking about a shooter :oops:.

SLIPPERY NIPPLE

Drink rating:
4.5 / 5 (2 votes)

rate recipeRate recipe | email recipeEmail recipe to a friend

Ingredients:

    * 1/2 oz.  sambuca
    * 1 oz. Irish cream

Mixing instructions:
Add the sambuca to the Irish cream liqueur. Another version of this same shooter has equal amounts of Anisette and Peppermint schnapps added to the Irish Cream liqueur.

If I have a drink it's usually a large draft topped up with some Clamato juice or a bloody Caesar.

Beer with Clamato is akin to Kool-Aid for adults.  Draught never tasted so good till it was topped off with the Clamato juice.

I had a chilled Garrison Tall Ships Amber ale[1] the other evening and it was delicious.  Once all the Sleeman[2] cases are done I think I'll have to visit the Garrison brewery near Pier 21.

I have a soda, with my booze neat or in shots. I prefer Irish Whiskey and Kentucky Bourbons.

The King is my drink of choice.  I have a very limited number of other brews that will suffice in its absence.  Good thing is if I ever make another trip to Canada it will be there.  Labaats (spelling) has the license to brew the King of Beers in Canada.

I love German pilsners, and various European stouts, but for an everyday beer I enjoy Rolling Rock, Yuengling, or Samuel Adams.  Pretty much any beer is fine after the first 6, except Busch.  NO! Thank you! I'll drink water first.
Wines are a staple too, Maddog2020, Thunderbird...ha.. I'm kidding...  chardonnay, or blush usually.
Liquor is a beast for me because I habitually gulp sometimes, but when I do slam a shot, I like rye whiskey.
