Looks like Earl is going to smack the North Carolina/Virginia Coast as a Cat. 2 or lower. Then it looks like Nova Scotia is in for a Cat. 1 storm(winds 75-95mph)

Should be fun watching the Peggy's Cove Lighthouse cam during the storm. There was wicked action last year with Bill.

Despite all this rain and wind, it's still hot! I can't open the windows because they might blow away. Nothing bad has happened so far but I hope we don't lose power...

I hope everyone came through the storm unscathed.  [-o<

I wonder if there was any damage to the set of "Haven"?

I read that 200,000 people were without power; here's hoping that all ORG members are okay. .. :irishtoast:

I think every ORG member was without power for different lengths of time. For me, 11:30 AM until 11:30 PM :x As far as I know, there was just a bunch of trees and branches down and not much property damage to speak of. Not sure about the damage in "Haven" (Lunenburg). That was very close to the eye's landfall.
Lots of catching up on the internet this morning.

We should be fine now. I know a couple of ORGsters who are still without power but it's a nice day and the power company should have most people up and running today. Thanks for your concern Hashdriveway. 8)

I only lost power for about four hours yesterday, so not many problems here. I may go and have a walk to the local park and see if there has been any damage there.

I was out driving around this morning and there was more damage done in the rest of the neighbourhood than around my own building. As I was driving, people had piled up all the downed branches onto the sidewalk and it looked like we had bushes planted along the street. The Hydrostone district was pretty bad too. Downed trees and other bullshit lying around. I'm comparing this as worse than Bill last year and I wasn't here for Juan.

So glad that you guys are OK.  It was too bad that one unfortunate man drowned while trying to secure his boat.
