That sounds fantastic for them and I wish them luck. Funny to see JP without the goatee.

That is fantastic! My oldest has an Autism Spectrum Disorder, so this really warms my heart. WTG Fellas!

A Porsche, eh? Decent!

It will be fun to see them in the documentary, I'm sure there will be echoes of Ricky and Julian in there somewhere. Hoping for lots of Top Gear-style cocking about.

The team will attend the Targa school prior to the start of the event and be tutored by veteran Porsche driving instructor Rick Bye.

How appropriate for Newfoundland, hey Rick Bye can you teach me how to rally?

This post was in a local automotive forum.

"Were down a few bodies again this year and are looking for some people who would like to spend the week on the road with TARGA! 8)  Figured I'd post this up encase anyone is over this way for it or a holiday. It's a fun week of being up close and personal with all the cars and drivers involved as you help out with the 1 of 5 Stage ops teams that give each car their times in and out of communities.

You will get a meal allowance and a gas one depending on if your using your car or not if you drive over, usually we car pool during the course of the week to cut down on the amount of vehicles Your accommodations are also covered during the week.

I've been involved since the beginning(2002) and enjoy it immensely every year! 8)

Contact Janet Brake if your interested for more details! brakej@nf.sympatico.ca or 709-424-8480 or 709-651-3241

Thanks!

TSD Rally, A test of skill and accuracy!

I'm too dumm to do a NAVEX, with all those calculations and cryptic maps etc. Foot down and get round the course without hitting tree/wall/marshal, that's more my style!  ;)

They are a maw-phuckin' BLAST!  Night time and winter condition events are progressively more of a handful than the daytime events.  There are times that due to the challenging conditions you won't have the luxury to just tooling along akin to a leisurely Sunday stroll through the countryside.

There's a Facebook group for the Targa here:

The main Targa Nfld site and FB group have updates on where the stages are being held.

It all goes down for real tomorrow! Good luck Team #1023, and also looking forward to seeing how the '69 BMW, M3 and Supra teams do (probably better than I ever drove those cars!)  ;)

It's the last day of the race, and some interesting new tactics may be in play...

Race Day 3

It doesn't look like the boys are going to be on the podium, but it sounds like they are having a good time. And hey, it's for charity!  :D
