Well, I don't know if there is ever a good time for Parliament to be prorogued.  But, I think that no question period during Christmas might not be a bad thing.

Hopefully, Harper will take a walk in the snow.

Governor General Michaelle Jean -- the representative of Queen Elizabeth, Canada's head of state -- agreed to Harper's request to shut down Parliament until Jan 26.

I wonder how much influence the Queen still has behind the political scenes.  I also wonder why that date is chosen.

Barack Obama will become the 44th Prez of the US being sworn into office on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.

Colin Powell hints at a crisis around the days between January 20, and 26, along with Joe Biden the VP to the B, said to mark his words that there would be a generated crisis to test Obama, and the world:

Talk about deja vu - Harper's prorogued Parliament again! What a travesty.

Doesn't seem to be any official explanation as to why, apart from "Busy with budget... err, other issues of importance... um, Olympics?"

WTF?

That's exactly what he's doing, DNW, shuttin' er down. Nothing to do with dodging awkward questions about the Afghan torture issue, or rearranging the Senate in his favour, oh no.

Robb Wells mentioned that his sister did some genealogy research, apparently they are not related to King Stevie after all. Phew!
